The original design was created by the French sculptor Michel Victor Acier in the late 18th century during his tenure at the Meissen manufactory.

The allegorical scene depicts a classically dressed lady and a gentleman, accompanied by a small winged putto (Cupid) sorting through a basket of flowers near the base. The figures and the rocky terrain are heavily encrusted with hand-applied, polychrome porcelain floral garlands and scattered foliage. The intricate painting work features vibrant shades of green, purple, and deep crimson, all highlighted with bright gold gilding applied throughout the clothing borders and the base.

Produced during the mid-to-late 19th century in Germany, high-quality unsigned pieces of this nature were frequently manufactured by various independent decorating studios and small factories operating in the Dresden region.
