This item is a large French Desvres Fourmaintraux faience cockatoo figurine, dating to around c.1890, and modeled in vibrant majolicastyle glaze. The striking parrot features a boldly colored body with green and yellow plumage, a vivid blue crest, and painted detailing in orange, black, and red. It is perched on a wonderfully handdecorated tree stump base with a mottled, impressionistic pattern.
