The name "Capodimonte" is synonymous with some of the finest porcelain ever produced. Its origins trace back to 1743, when King Charles VII of Naples and his wife established the Royal Factory of Capodimonte. While the original factory ceased operations in 1759, the legacy and the famous crowned "N" mark were adopted by a new factory founded by King Ferdinand IV in 1771. Over time, many private Italian workshops used this celebrated mark to denote a high standard of craftsmanship.

The figurine's signature, "G. Bellini," indicates it was created by a specific artist, a common practice for many of the distinguished postRoyal Factory pieces. While not from the original 18thcentury royal era, pieces signed by individual artists are highly sought after by collectors for their unique character and artisan quality.
