The Bad Taste Bears collection was the brainchild of designer Peter Underhill, who first conceived the concept in the mid1990s as an antidote to overly cute merchandise. The first figurines were released by Piranha Studios in 1999 and became globally famous for their irreverent, tongueincheek humor, often bordering on shock value.
Figurines released between 1999 and 2008 by Piranha Studios (or later, OddCo) are considered part of the Original Retired Series and are highly prized by collectors worldwide.
