Description:

This is a charming antique Mauchline Ware money box in the shape of a barrel, dating to the late 19th century. Wrapped in a traditional red and green tartan paper, it features a sepia photographic transfer of Castle Street, Aberdeen on the front — a typical example of Scottish souvenir ware from the Victorian era.

The lid has a slot for coins and can be removed to access the interior. The interior is lined in purple and blue paper, which remains partially intact. A delightful example of Scottish treen and a true collectible from the golden age of travel mementos.

The base is heavily worn, with areas of material loss.
