Capodimonte Volta Boy with Tree Figurine Hand Painted Italian Porcelain


This charming Italian figurine features a young boy leaning against a tree while observing a small ladybug on the branch. He wears a brown cap, striped shirt, vest, green trousers, and blue bow tie. A detailed stack of books rests at the base. Signed Volta on the front and marked with the blue “N” mark underneath.



Having originated in 1736 by King Charles III of Naples in the village of Capodimonte. The ultra fine porcelain mix has always and will always, remain a secret and the world has seen no quality equal to it. Sadly, many of the sculptors have now passed away, therefore the secrets of production have died away with the old masters. Each and every piece is made slightly differently whether this be an inclination of the head, a glance of the eye or a different shade of muffler, hence each piece is truly an original and an individual work of art!


These pieces are growing in value over time and are truly collector’s items.

Vintage condition. The top of the tree has been repaired (visible upon close inspection). There is also a small chip on the boy’s hat. No other major cracks observed. Leaves and ladybug intact. Base shows light wear and minor discoloration underneath. Please review all photos carefully.
